Men Hanfu & Gender Neutral Hanfu

In ancient China, Hanfu was not only a reflection of traditional attire but also a reflection of societal roles and status. Men's Hanfu designs in the past were generally more masculine and tailored to suit their day-to-day activities and court ranks.

However, the Tang Dynasty also saw the emergence of a popular trend where women began wearing men's Hanfu. The adoption of men's Hanfu by women was seen as a symbol of empowerment and a departure from traditional gender norms, showcasing the progressive mindset and fashion-forward culture of the Tang Dynasty as far back as the 7th century.

Care Instructions

How to care for your Hanfu?

Washing:

  • Hanfu garments are mostly delicate, especially those with embroidery, so handwashing is preferred.
  • If you choose to machine wash, use the gentlest cycle and place the garment in a laundry bag for protection.
  • After washing, hang the Hanfu indoors in a well-ventilated area to dry.
  • Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight to prevent color fading.

Storage:

  • Store your Hanfu in breathable fabric garment bags to protect it.
  • Avoid hanging Hanfu for long periods, as it may stretch the fabric. Instead, carefully fold the garments and store them flat or stack them neatly in a storage container.
